Interior design project.
Design has a unique power: it can transform spaces while telling stories born of memory, emotion and constant exploration. In my case, this story stems from a family legacy, a deep-rooted passion for the craft, and the desire to create a place where design is not only seen, but felt. This is how the new Sigfrido Serra Studio was born, a space that is much more than a studio; it is a creative refuge, a workshop of ideas, a place where inspiration flows and where memory merges with innovation. And at the centre of it all, literally and symbolically, beats a kitchen, the soul of the house, the space from which the most authentic connections arise.
This studio, located on Calle Cirilo Amorós in Valencia, is not just an office for working or a showroom for displaying projects. It is an environment designed to experience design from within, so that anyone who enters can immediately understand that here, design is felt and breathed in every corner. The kitchen, which occupies the heart of the space, is not a decorative element or a mere functional space. It is the hub around which everything revolves, because for me, the kitchen has always been the centre of the home, where everything begins and where life happens in its fullest expression. But this is not just any kitchen: it is a kitchen that integrates advanced technology and sophisticated design, which interacts with the space and those who inhabit it.
The steam oven, coffee machine and hob with integrated extractor hood, all from Franke’s Mythos range, come together in a design that goes beyond technical utility. These are pieces that, thanks to their precision and careful design, turn food preparation into an almost ritualistic act, a moment of enjoyment that connects with the senses. The surface surrounding this area, made with Formica Homapal and its metallic finish, provides a texture that is not only visually striking but also tactilely enveloping, a constant invitation to explore the space with the eyes and touch. This material becomes a bridge between traditional craftsmanship and modernity, giving the space a very defined character and a personal stamp that distinguishes the studio.
What lies behind this alliance with Franke is not only a professional collaboration, but also a deep recognition of values that I share: the pursuit of excellence, a passion for craftsmanship and constant innovation. Being named Franke’s ambassador in the Valencian Community is an honour for me, reaffirming the consistency between my understanding of design and the philosophy of a brand that has always been committed to quality and evolution. It is a partnership that reflects a shared commitment to making the contemporary home a place where technology and human sensitivity coexist in balance.
But this studio could not be understood without the weight of the family history that sustains it. The premises that now house Sigfrido Serra Studio were the same ones where my grandfather opened his shop in 1931, a space dedicated to furniture and decoration that, over the years, has been transformed without losing its essence. That history accompanies me and drives me to look ahead, to reinterpret tradition with new eyes, and to create a project that bridges the past and the future. In this space, memory intertwines with modernity, and each element responds to a sensibility that seeks a balance between the technical and the emotional, the functional and the poetic.
For me, design is much more than aesthetics; it is a way of inhabiting the world, of creating atmospheres that accompany us and make us feel at home, in a place of our own. That is why this studio was conceived as a living space, where every detail is designed to awaken emotions and sensations, so that whoever enters can connect with the idea that design has a soul, and that soul is what turns a space into a home. The kitchen, with its technological features and delicate finish, is the perfect symbol of this philosophy: the union between innovation and warmth, between precision and everyday life.
I like to think that anyone who visits this studio will not only see a tidy workspace, but will also be able to immerse themselves in an experience, in an atmosphere that speaks to who I am and how I understand design. This is not just about displaying objects or presenting trends; it is about offering a space where creativity flows, where design is lived and felt as a process of constant transformation. And that can be seen in every corner, in the light that enters, in the texture of the surfaces, in the way the kitchen interacts with the rest of the space.
The studio also pays tribute to the value of detail and the honesty of the craft. The choice of each material, each finish and each appliance is the result of careful consideration of how to make technology not an obstacle, but an ally in creating more liveable, more human spaces. And that philosophy translates into a space that not only looks outwards, towards market trends, but also inwards, towards its own sensibility, a personal way of understanding and experiencing design.
With this project, I want to convey that design is an experience that goes beyond the visual, connecting with memory, the senses and emotions. It can be innovative and at the same time familiar, sophisticated and warm, technological and human. The new Sigfrido Serra Studio is an invitation to inhabit that space with all your senses open, to feel that design can transform not only what we see, but who we are and how we relate to our environment.
This studio is, in short, the reflection of an ongoing personal and professional journey, a commitment to design as a tool for life and culture, and a place where family history is reinvented to look to the future with the strength of those who know that design is not just a profession, but a way of understanding and transforming the world.
